    Privacy Policy.

    Last updated · September 29, 2026

("SelfMind AI", "we", "us", or "our") operates the website selfmind.app and the SelfMind AI mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our services. By using SelfMind AI, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

    1. Information We Collect

    Information You Provide

    • Account information: name, email address, and password when you register or join the waitlist.
    • Profile data: optional details you add (age range, wellness goals, preferences).
    • Conversation data: text and voice messages you share with SelfMind AI during sessions.
    • Feedback: responses to surveys, support tickets, or ratings you submit.

    Information Collected Automatically

    • Device information: device type, operating system, unique device identifiers.
    • Usage data: pages visited, features used, session duration, and interaction patterns.
    • Log data: IP address, browser type, referring URLs, and timestamps.
    • Cookies and similar technologies: to maintain sessions and understand user behavior.

    Sensitive Mental Health Data

SelfMind AI processes mental health–related conversation content to deliver personalized support. This data is treated with the highest level of care, encrypted in transit and at rest, and is never sold to third parties. We do not use this data for advertising.

    2. How We Use Your Information

    • Provide, operate, and improve the SelfMind AI services.
    • Personalize your experience and deliver relevant wellness support.
    • Send transactional emails (account verification, password resets, waitlist updates).
    • Send optional product updates and wellness content — you can opt out at any time.
    • Monitor and analyze usage patterns to improve safety and performance.
    • Detect, prevent, and respond to fraudulent or harmful activity.
    • Comply with applicable legal obligations.

    3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal data. We may share your information only in these limited circumstances:

    • Service providers: trusted third-party vendors (e.g., cloud hosting, email delivery, analytics) who process data on our behalf under strict confidentiality agreements.
    • Legal requirements: when required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of users or the public.
    • Crisis situations: if we have reason to believe there is an imminent risk to someone's safety, we may share relevant information with emergency services.
    • Business transfers: in the event of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, user data may be transferred — we will notify you before this occurs.

    4. AI Processing and Third-Party AI Providers

SelfMind uses AI to generate responses. The app asks for your explicit permission before any of the data below is sent, and you can withdraw that permission at any time in the app (Settings → Privacy). If you withdraw, AI features stop until you agree again.

    • What is sent: messages you type in chat, your voice during voice sessions, and your onboarding answers. ElevenLabs keeps the audio and the transcript of each voice session for up to 30 days, so you can listen back to what you said in past sessions. After that ElevenLabs deletes them.
    • Who processes it: Microsoft Azure OpenAI Service (text conversations and your emotional reading) and ElevenLabs (voice sessions). While we finish moving voice sessions to ElevenLabs, some may still be handled by Hume AI, which also keeps the audio and transcript of those sessions so you can listen back to them. These providers process data on our behalf as data processors.
    • Why: solely to generate responses to you. Not for advertising and not for sale.
    • Protection: Microsoft Azure OpenAI Service and Hume AI are bound by data processing terms that provide the same or equal protection as this policy, including confidentiality, security requirements, and restrictions against using your data for their own purposes such as advertising or model training. ElevenLabs is bound by data processing terms that include confidentiality and security requirements.

    5. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. Conversation data is retained for up to 12 months to enable memory-powered features, after which it is automatically deleted. The audio and transcripts of your voice sessions are also kept by ElevenLabs, our voice provider, for up to 30 days so you can listen back to them, and are then deleted. Voice sessions still handled by Hume AI are kept by Hume so you can listen back to them. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us at contact@selfmind.app.

    6. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:

    • Access: request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
    • Correction: request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
    • Deletion: request deletion of your personal data ("right to be forgotten").
    • Portability: request your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
    • Objection / Restriction: object to certain processing activities or request we restrict processing.
    • Withdraw consent: where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting prior processing.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at contact@selfmind.app. We respond to all requests within 30 days.

    7. Cookies

We use essential cookies to operate our services (e.g., authentication sessions) and optional analytics cookies to understand usage patterns. You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings. Disabling essential cookies may affect service functionality.

    8. Third-Party Links and Integrations

Our services may contain links to third-party websites (e.g., our blog at blogs.selfmind.app, social media profiles). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites and encourage you to review their policies separately.

    9. Meta Platform Integration

SelfMind AI may integrate with Meta platforms (Facebook, Instagram) to enable social login or sharing features. When you connect a Meta account, we receive only the permissions you explicitly grant. We use this data solely to enable the requested feature and do not share it with other third parties. You may disconnect your Meta account at any time from your account settings.

    10. Children's Privacy

SelfMind AI is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected such data, we will delete it promptly. If you believe we have collected data from a child, please contact us immediately.

    11. Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures including TLS encryption in transit, AES-256 encryption at rest, access controls, and regular security audits. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We encourage you to use strong, unique passwords and to contact us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

    12. International Data Transfers

SelfMind AI is based in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, India. If you are accessing our services from outside India, your data may be transferred to and processed in India or other countries where our service providers operate. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for such transfers.

    13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top and notify you via email or an in-app notice if the changes are material. Continued use of SelfMind AI after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
